Traffic conditions - Romania

According to information of the Romania’s Meteorological Association, code yellow was issued in Romania due to rains and strong winds. It  will be in force until 08.00 am on 02.10.2013 for the southeastern part of Romania -  Gorj , Vucha , Arges , Dâmbovița , Teleorman , Gjurgevo, Ilfov and Bucharest, Prahova , Buzău , Ialomița , Călăraşi , Brăila , Galați and Vrancea .For the same reasons code orange is issued for the areas Tulcea and Constanta and will be in force until 02.00 am on 02.10.2013.

On major roads in the uplands Prahova, Harghita and Covasna / near Braşov / snow has accumulated in the range 1 - 6 cm. The road services are working on the cleaning and processing of the roads. We ask people travelling through the southeastern part of Romania, to comply with the weather conditions and the instructions from the traffic officials and the police.

According to a message from the Romanian National Company of Motorways and National Roads, the repair of the bridge over the ring road Caransebes is extended until 15.12.2013.

For the passage of vehicles with total weight over 3.5 tonnes,  the following routes are recommended :

Timisoara - Bucharest :

1 ) - DN6 Timisoara - Lugoj - Caransebes; - DN68 Caransebes - Hateg; - DN66 Hateg - Simeria;

2 ) - DN6 Remetea Mare - Timisoara; - DN59 Timisoara - Voiteg; - DN58B Voiteg - Resita; - DN58 Resita - Anina; - DN57B Anina - Iablanita;

3 ) - DN6 Timisoara - Lugoj; - DN68A Lugoj - Ilia; - DN7 Ilia - Bucuresti;

Bucharest - Timisoara :

1 ) - DN57B Iablanita - Anina; - DN58 Anina - Caransebes; - DN6 Caransebes - Timisoara;

2 ) - DN57B Iablanita - Anina; - DN58 Anina - Resita; - DN58B Resita - Voiteg; - DN59 Voiteg - Timisoara;

3 ) - DN7 Bucuresti - Ilia; - DN68A Ilia - Lugoj; - DN6 Lugoj - Timisoara.

Romanian National Company of Motorways and National Roads recommends the use of other circuitous routes.
