Bulgarian bus accident in southern France

30 July 2013

A Bulgarian bus travelling on a regular route from Spain to Bulgaria caught fire in the region of the city of Nice in southern France on July 29. No one died or was injured. The luggage was saved from the baggage compartment but computers, money and documents were destroyed by the fire. The 51 passengers who had been travelling in the bus were accommodated in a shelter.

The Bulgarian Embassy in Paris said that the passengers are in good health and today at about 10am would leave on another bus from the same firm, to travel to Bulgaria. If needed, the Bulgarian embassies in Slovenia and in Paris are ready to provide the necessary assistance to issue temporary identity documents. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in contact with the transport company and the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications.
