Earthquake in Southwestern Bulgaria

An earthquake measuring between 5.8 and 5.9 points on the Richter scale, epicentred near Pernik, just west of Sofia, hit Southwestern Bulgaria at 3 a.m. local time on Tuesday and was also felt in other parts of the country. The strong tremour was followed by some 30 weaker aftershocks.

The quake did not cause any  damage to Sofia infrastructure.
