Ambassador Vasil Petkov presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria in Astana Vasil Petkov presented his credentials to President Nursultan Nazarbayev. The ceremony took place on 18 March and it was attended by the newly appointed ambassadors of the US, Pakistan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Nazarbayev emphasized the traditional friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Bulgaria, which are built on a solid legal and contractual basis. He underscored the actively developing inter-parliamentary contacts between the two countries. An important element of the "people's diplomacy" is the presence of the Bulgarian community in Kazakhstan, the President said.

For his part, Ambassador Vasil Petkov noted the deep historical roots and kinship of the two nations and the role of the Bulgarian community as a natural bridge of friendship between them. He expressed his readiness to work for expansion of the cooperation in various areas of mutual interest with a focus on trade and economic relations.
