18 December 2014 News
We congratulate Georgia on European Parliament’s ratification of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement, including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area. The Agreement will bring Georgia closer to Europe in economic, political, social and legal terms. Bulgaria remains strongly committed to the European perspective of Georgia, which requires further application of the democratic principles, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, and ensuring the rule of law.
The Association Agreement is one of the structurally important factors of the bilateral agenda between Bulgaria and Georgia. We are ready to share our experience and expertise on issues of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia, to provide specific and practical assistance for reforms and for the implementation of the commitments made under the Association Agreement and the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan by sharing our experience and expertise within the EU-funded programs and through development cooperation.
We reaffirm our strong support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and we expect that the benefits of the Association Agreement will cover all of the internationally recognized territory of Georgia.
