Minister Daniel Mitov participated in an informal ministerial meeting of the OSCE on the crisis of European security, which took place on 26 September. The meeting was organized at the initiative of OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Swiss Foreign Minister and President of the Confederation Didier Burkhalter. More than 30 foreign ministers of the OSCE participating States shared the view that the crisis in Ukraine has led to serious negative consequences for European security.
In the face of growing distrust and divisions, OSCE is a forum that provides opportunities to conduct dialogue and ease tensions by political means. The organization occupies an important place in European security and has key role in finding a lasting political solution to the crisis in Ukraine, Minister Mitov said in his speech at the meeting.
The main tasks of the Organization are continuing the efforts to help stabilize the situation in Ukraine and conducting a more thorough analysis of the crisis in the field of security and cooperation in Europe. The upcoming OSCE Ministerial Council in December 2014 will be crucial for resolving the crisis of European security.
