Bulgaria and Bangladesh will continue to develop their good bilateral relations

Bulgaria highly values its relations with Bangladesh. They are developing for decades in the spirit of mutual respect and understanding, said the outgoing Deputy Foreign Minister Angel Velitchkov during a ceremony on the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria and the People's Republic of Bangladesh to conduct political consultations.
Deputy Minister Velitchkov and Zulfiqur Rahman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bangladesh to Ankara, accredited to Bulgaria, shared the view that the signing of the Memorandum will provide the necessary foundation to make regular contacts and consultations between the two foreign ministries on issues of bilateral relations, as well as on regional and international issues in areas of mutual interest. Angel Velitchkov identified tourism and agriculture as priority areas of cooperation.
Ambassador Zulfiqur Rahman expressed gratitude for the help that both the governments and the Bulgarian citizens have repeatedly provided to Bangladesh. "This Memorandum serves as a platform where we can discuss ways to help each other," he said,expressing hope that the friendship and cooperation between the two countries will increase in various areas - not only government, but also cultural and public areas.
