Meeting of Minister Kristian Vigenin with the Foreign Minister of Serbia

Minister Kristian Vigenin held today a bilateral meeting with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, who is visiting Bulgaria to participate in the 30th Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States, held today in Golden Sands resort, Varna.

The two ministers discussed the development of bilateral relations, focusing  on the opportunities to strengthen the economic cooperation and implementation of joint projects. Regional cooperation was among the topics of conversation and Kristian Vigenin and Ivica Dačić shared the view that it is an important platform for exchanging ideas and sharing valuable experience.

The European perspective of the Western Balkan countries, including the Republic of Serbia, was also among the issues discussed by the two top diplomats. Minister Kristian Vigenin reiterated Bulgaria's support for Serbia's membership in the European Union in implementing the necessary criteria. We are ready to share relevant experience and expertise gained on our way towards EU accession, the Bulgarian Foreign Minister said.
