The Republic of Bulgaria was elected a titular member of the Governing Body of the International Labour Organisation ( ILO). Our country will hold this prestigious position in the period 2014-2017, after being a deputy member in 2011-2014.
The elections took place on 2 June in the 103rd Session of the International Labour Conferencein Geneva, in which Bulgaria is represented by a tripartite delegation (Government, employers 'organizations , workers' organizations).
The Governing Body is the principal executive body of the ILO, which decides on the organization's policy, the agendaof the annual International Labour Conference, adopts the budget and the ILO work program, and elects the Director General.
