The upcoming elections will determine the direction of Europe

10 May 2014 News

The Diplomatic Institute to the Minister of Foreign Affairs marked the Europe Day with a music event under the motto "I vote because I am interested". The event was attended by the Foreign Minister, Kristian Vigenin, the Director of the Diplomatic Institute, Tanya Mihaylova, and representatives of the partners of the campaign from the Information Office of the European Parliament and Rock the Vote Bulgaria.

"The upcoming elections will not only decide who will represent Bulgaria in the European Parliament, but will also determine the direction of development of the whole Europe," said Minister Vigenin. He expressed hope that the campaign will help young people learn  more about what the EU is and what are the benefits of the EU membership for Bulgaria. Our goal is to provoke their interest so they will really go and participate in the elections on 25 May, said Vigenin.

The event is part of the "I vote because I am interested" campaign, which aims to encourage young people's participation in the European Parliament elections on 25 May this year. The event was attended by singer Polly Genova, group LaTIDa and dancers from FullFance and uMove.
