Solidarity and support for the neighbours are key values

In Istanbul on May 11, Bulgarian delegation headed by the Deputy Foreign Minister Dimiter Tzantchev took part of the 121st session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. Present at the event were the 47 member countries and other observer states.
The main themes in Minister Tzantchev`s statement were the support for a neighboring policy of the Council, the strategic role of the Committee of Ministers for the consolidation of intergovernmental cooperation, reform of the organization, the importance of programs, targeting Roma people, as well as the contribution of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe during the international conference held on the 5-6 May in Bulgaria “The Sofia Platform”.
In the closing session Turkey handed over the presidency of the Committee of Ministers to Ukraine for the following six months.
