Ambassador Nikolay Milkov presented his credentials to the Governor General of Canada

At a ceremony on 30 October 2013, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria tо Canada Nikolay Milkov presented his credentials totheGovernor General of Canada, David Johnston.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Governor General emphasized the excellent bilateral relations between our two countries and noted that Bulgaria and Canada are friendly countries that share common values ​​- the basis on which a lot can be achieved for the further development and intensification of the cooperation in various fields.

The newly appointed Bulgarian Ambassador outlined the opportunities that both countries have on a bilateral level. In his statement, he referred to the economic cooperation with a focus on increasing Canadian investments in Bulgaria, the interaction within NATO, OSCE and other international organizations in support of world peace and security, the expansion and facilitation of human contacts as some of the spheres with high potential for future cooperation.  In this context, Governor General Johnston and Nikolay Milkov agreed that the economic and trade agreement between the EU and Canada creates favorable conditions for the implementation of the economic priorities.
