Kristian Vigenin held talks with the Ambassador of Estonia Toomas Kukk

The opportunities for enhanced coordination in the preparation of both countries to hold the rotating presidency of the EU in 2018 within the framework of the Three , the general state of bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest on the EU agenda, discussed the Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin and Toomas Kukk, Ambassador of Estonia based in Tallinn.

They exchanged information on the preparation of both countries to hold the rotating EU presidency and pledged to enhance coordination between the Bulgarian and Estonian institutions at all levels. Kristian Vigenin said that to his regret presumably also next year the country will not be able to reopen its embassy in the Estonian capital. However, he expressed hope that this issue will become even more important as we approach the rotating EU presidency .

Bulgaria and Estonia , as new EU member states, have many common interests and positions on a number of topics on the EU agenda, Minister Vigenin said . In his words, the direct contact with the Baltic state is of a great importance for our country as a partner in the context of our common European commitment. Ambassador Kukk briefed Minister Vigenin on Estonia's position about the EU policy on the Eastern Partnership. The two expressed hope that on the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius, the EU will outline even more clearly the European perspective for the region.
