Minister Petrova Participates in the Opening of the Third Regional Economic Conference of the American Chambers of Commerce

Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova took part in the opening of the Third Regional Economic Conference of the American Chambers of Commerce of Bulgaria, Greece and Türkiye, which is being held in Sofia this year. The forum is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy, Investments and Industry in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation, as well as the US Chamber of Commerce.
In her welcoming speech, Minister Petrova stressed the importance of regional cooperation and the role of business as an engine of economic growth and connectivity in Southeast Europe and beyond. She noted that the partnership between the US Chambers of Commerce in Bulgaria, Greece and Türkiye for the third consecutive year shows that regional cooperation brings concrete results and creates sustainable development opportunities.
"Bulgaria is a country that combines centuries-old history with a modern vision for the future and a clear commitment to growth in the interest of the people with the core capital of each country," Minister Velislava Petrova said. She pointed out that the geographical location of our country is a bridge between Europe, the Middle East and Asia and this is a key strategic advantage that creates opportunities for the development of transport, energy and economic connectivity, as well as socio-economic development.
During the speech, special attention was given to technological development and artificial intelligence, where Bulgaria occupies an important place in the European innovation ecosystem. According to her, this creates prerequisites for attracting investments, increased development, scientific achievements and building high-tech companies with significant potential for long-term development.
She also noted the importance of the conference in the context of the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of American independence and our common Bulgarian-American heritage, highlighting the advantages of the wide-ranging, dynamic and future-oriented strategic partnership between Bulgaria and the United States.
Our top diplomat stressed the importance of people-to-people relations for international cooperation, economic growth and prosperity. Velislava Petrova also identified Bulgaria's inclusion in the US Visa Waiver Program and membership in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development as key priorities that will facilitate dialogue and contacts, help economic growth and improve the investment environment.
