Minister Velislava Petrova Awarded the Golden Laurel Branch to the Ambassador of Hungary to Bulgaria Miklós Boros

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Velislava Petrova, honored the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Bulgaria, Miklós Boros, with the highest distinction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - the "Golden Laurel Branch". The official ceremony took place today at the MFA.

The award is presented for his significant contribution to revitalizing and deepening bilateral relations, developing trade and economic cooperation, expanding business contacts, and investment opportunities in Bulgaria.

Minister Petrova highly praised Ambassador Boros's activity in promoting a positive image of Bulgaria. In her speech at the ceremony, she highlighted his consistent work in establishing and maintaining sustainable relations between representatives of the institutions of both countries, representatives of culture and science, business, and overall, for an even closer rapprochement between the two people.

Velislava Petrova emphasized the good traditions in Bulgarian-Hungarian relations, which have great potential and a rich history. Our top diplomat recalled that in 2020, one century since the establishment of diplomatic relations was marked. She thanked Ambassador Boros for his assistance in organizing all official high-level visits that contributed to the development of intensive bilateral exchange.

Ambassador Miklós Boros is a career diplomat with long-standing experience and an active contribution to the development of Bulgarian-Hungarian relations.

He is also an active member of the Club of Bulgarian-Speaking Ambassadors.
