Minister Velislava Petrova Held a Meeting with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadov

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Velislava Petrova, held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria, Elmar Mammadov.
Our top diplomat congratulated Ambassador Mammadov on assuming his diplomatic mission in our country and expressed confidence that the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan will continue to develop successfully.
The two reviewed the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in a number of areas of mutual interest, in line with the high level of political dialogue, as well as upcoming high-level visits.
In this context, Minister Petrova expressed gratitude for the invitation to hold the third session of the Strategic Dialogue between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan in Baku this year and stated the Bulgarian side's readiness to conduct it.
Among the main topics of the conversation were the development of cooperation in the field of energy, trade and economic ties, energy and transport connectivity, innovation, and opportunities to promote investment.
Emphasis was also placed on the progress in the implementation of the project for the construction and reconstruction of the Shusha Park in Veliko Tarnovo, fully funded by Azerbaijan, covering an area of over 18 decares. Both were unanimous that this project represents another symbol of the deepening friendly relations between the two countries.
