Meeting between Minister Kristian Vigenin and Ambassador Marco Conticelli

04 July 2013 News

“I am delighted that we can work together with Italy on the membership of the countries of the Western Balkans of the EU and NATO, and it is our great shared task," Minister Kristian Vigenin said at a meeting with the Ambassador of Italy, Marco Conticelli. He referred to a conversation with Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Emma Bonino during the celebrations in Zagreb on the occasion of the accession of Croatia to the EU.

“We are very active, but need to do more for the development of economic relations between our countries and to increase Italian investments in Bulgaria,” Ambassador Conticelli said, expressing hope that the business climate would favour this.

“Our work together in the EU institutions for the implementation of key infrastructure, transport and energy projects of mutual interest is of great significance," the Foreign Minister and Italian Ambassador agreed.

Ambassador Conticelli reaffirmed Italy's support for Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area.
