The Consul of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Kingdom of Sweden visited the Bulgarian citizens — crew members of the detained ship ‘Vezhen’

Today the Bulgarian citizens — members of the crew of the detained ship ‘Vezhen’ were visited by the Head of the Consular Service at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Kingdom of Sweden Stefan Stoykov. The consul met all 8 Bulgarians on board and had the opportunity to talk with them for three hours. They are in good health, good spirit and condition. At the moment they do not need food supplies or medication — they are provided with water and food and can move freely around the ship. The Bulgarian seafarers have informed that their civil rights have been respected by the local law enforcement authorities during the investigations carried out so far.
They delivered testimonies to the Swedish investigating authorities, and translation was provided during the interviews.
The Bulgarian seafarers expressed their gratitude for the efforts of the Bulgarian state, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Stockholm and the Consul for the constant contact and assistance.
The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Sweden remains fully prepared to continue to assist the Bulgarian seafarers.
