Deputy Minister Nevyana Miteva took part in the 8th Annual Meeting of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF) with the participation of Ambassadors, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in partnership with representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Bulgaria.

In her speech, Deputy Minister Miteva pointed out that our country's key external priorities remain accession to Schengen by land and accession to the euro area. Bulgaria will continue the constructive dialogue and active cooperation with European partners, the deputy minister said. Regarding the euro area, she told the ambassadors and participants in the event that Bulgaria's ambition is to introduce the common European currency in 2025.

Emphasis was also put on Bulgaria's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Deputy Minister Miteva stressed that this is a major foreign policy priority, enjoying broad political support and institutional continuity, with a build-up in national efforts. In addition, attention was also paid to the benefits of our country's membership in the OECD, especially the beneficial impact on the whole region of South Eastern Europe. This in turn would help improve economic stability, investment climate and living standards. The Deputy Minister underlined that Bulgaria remains strongly committed to supporting OECD regional initiatives, in particular the Regional Agenda for South-East Europe.

In the framework of the meeting, Deputy Minister Miteva also paid attention to security issues in the Black Sea, the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East region.
