Mariya Gabriel: The talent of women entrepreneurs is an engine for economic growth

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel welcomed the joint initiative ‘Meeting of Women in the Economy’ organized by the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the Embassy of Bulgaria in Vienna on 30 January 2024.
The event was attended by women entrepreneurs in management positions in various sectors interested in investing in Bulgaria. The main objective of the meeting was to exchange experiences, ideas and good practices promoting bilateral economic cooperation.
In her address, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the key aspects of supporting women in the economy. These include increasing the number of women-led businesses, more mentoring and leadership development programmes, and more awareness campaigns to create visibility for the achievements of women innovators and leaders.
She congratulated the Ambassador of Bulgaria in Austria, Desislava Naydenova, and Kasia Greco, Vice President of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce for the organization of the event and also thanked the representatives of the Austrian business for their support for the Schengen membership of Bulgaria and Romania.
