The co-operation between Bulgaria and France in the fields of politics, economics and culture was discussed today by Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Marin Raykov and the Ambassador of France, Philippe Autie.
“Bulgaria relies on the support of France, as well as that of our other European partners, in the government’s efforts to negotiate with the European Commission about the redirection of EU funds to programmes for combating youth unemployment,” Bulgaria’s Prime Minister said.
He dwelt on opportunities for co-operation with France in the areas of energy, construction and agriculture.
“The Bulgarian government is making every effort to preserve financial stability and to initiate positive changes in the energy and regulatory regimes. In this regard, French investments and the experience of companies such as Total are of great importance to us,” Marin Raykov said.
He briefed Ambassador Autie on the main priorities of the caretaker government.
“France fully supports the Bulgarian government in the achievement of the goals it has set,” the French Ambassador said.
He handed the Bulgarian Prime Minister congratulatory letters from the President of the French Republic Francois Hollande, Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault, Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and Minister of Interior Manuel Valls.
