Mariya Gabriel in Paris: France and Bulgaria are partners and strategic allies

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel met in Paris with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Catherine Colonna.
‘Bulgaria and France have excellent bilateral relations. France is a partner and strategic ally with whom we share common priorities in the European agenda’, Mariya Gabriel said .
In 2024 Bulgaria and France celebrate the 145th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and this year is the 30th anniversary of Bulgaria's accession to the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
Among the topics discussed by the foreign ministers of Bulgaria and France were cooperation in the field of innovation, new technologies, education and energy. Emphasis was also placed on the support for Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East and the EU enlargement policy.
Mariya Gabriel thanked France for its support for our country's accession to Schengen and the OECD.
