Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel: Bulgarian citizens and their families were the first to be evacuated from Gaza

"A total of 36 people — Bulgarian citizens and members of their families were successfully removed from the territory of Gaza today and are now safe in Egypt. The 37th person has declared his/her wish to stay", this was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel.
"In a complex and extremely dynamic situation, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the actions of our representations in Cairo, Ramallah and Tel Aviv, the removal of our compatriots through the Rafah crossing was successfully implemented, in the first possible group allowed to leave the Gaza Strip. I would like to thank all parties involved in achieving and implementing the passage," Gabriel added.
The condition of all is good. The MFA is in constant communication with its representations in Cairo, Ramallah and Tel Aviv with a view to providing the best follow-up care for our compatriots in the current situation.
