Minister Ivan Kondov took part in the recital ‘Francophone Muses’ held on 15 May 2023 at the Mission Gallery of the State Cultural Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The recital was part of the program of events celebrating the 30th anniversary of Bulgaria's full membership in the International Organization of the Francophonie, which takes place under the patronage of the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mrs. Iliyana Iotova.

The poetry evening was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Europe and the World Foundation with the support of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors in Bulgaria, chaired by Mrs. Zakia El Midaoui, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco. Francophone poets Aksinia Mihailova, Boyko Lambovski, Dimana Ivanova and Gergina Dvoretska read their poems in French as well as their translations of works by Francophone poets.

In his address, Minister Ivan Kondov said that through Francophone poetry we want to highlight the richness and diversity of Francophonie, a community that encompasses many cultures and languages. ‘With this poetry evening, we also pay tribute to Bulgarian poetic talents for their contribution to poetry in French and to the promotion of Francophone poetry in Bulgaria,’ the Minister of Foreign Affairs noted.

The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, the academic community, journalists, Francophone writers and others.
