On 6 June 2023, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova received the Special Envoy on Migration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. Both parties discussed the migration challenges facing the EU and possible common solutions at EU level. There was a common view on the importance of preventive measures to curb migration and the need to strengthen cooperation with third countries to reduce the flow of migration to the EU. On the part of Denmark was expressed support for increased EU funding to improve infrastructure at the EU's external borders. Cooperation between both countries will continue with a view to the next European Council on 29—30 June, where leaders will discuss the issue of migration.
