Minister Nikolay Milkov held a meeting with the Ambassador of Canada to Bulgaria

Minister Nikolay Milkov received today at the MFA the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to the Republic of Bulgaria based in Bucharest, H. E. Annick Goulet.
The meeting confirmed the excellent relations between the two countries and the fruitful cooperation on the international scene in the context of the many challenges on the regional and global scale.
The current state of the bilateral relations was reviewed with an emphasis on the significant results achieved in the last few years, including the lifting of visa restrictions for Bulgarian citizens to travel to Canada, the steady expansion of bilateral trade and the entry of Canadian companies on the Bulgarian market.
The two counterparts shared a common understanding of the need to intensify bilateral political dialogue at the highest levels and to exploit the existing potential for cooperation in a number of areas of shared interest.
The discussion also focused on topical issues from the regional and international agenda - the war in Ukraine, energy security and energy supply diversification projects in the region of South-Eastern Europe, the Western Balkans and relations with the Republic of North Macedonia.
