16 June 2022 News

During a solemn ceremony on 14 June 2022, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria based in Buenos Aires Stoyan Mihaylov presented his Letter of Credence to the President of the Republic of Chile Gabriel Boric.

In the ensuing conversation, the two noted the excellent relations between Bulgaria and Chile and reaffirmed the shared political will to further develop the ties between the two nations.

The Chilean Head of State accepted with gratitude the invitation extended to him by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev to visit our country.

President Boric said he has been familiar with Bulgarian football since he was young, naming individual players. He also enjoys Bulgarian music.

Ambassador Mihaylov wished a successful mandate to President Boric, who took office on 11 March 2022 with a very ambitious reform agenda. At 35, he became Chile’s youngest head of state.

The meeting was also attended by Chile’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonia Urrejola.

On the Bulgarian side, Katia Dobrew Hott, Honorary Consul of Bulgaria to Chile, took part in the ceremony.

Ambassador Mihaylov handed over copies of his Letter of Credence a day earlier to Ambassador Manahi Pakarati Novoa, Director of State Protocol of the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
