Minister Genchovska welcomed the Minister of Economy and Planning of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodora Genchovska met with the Minister of Economy and Planning of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim. His visit to Bulgaria is part of his tour of Eastern Europe and is the first of its kind in Bulgaria.

The main topics of conversation between the two ministers were the opportunities for deepening the established political dialogue, cooperation in the field of security, energy and tourism, as well as issues related to the development of relations in the field of economy and investment.

Minister Genchovska stressed that Bulgaria sees the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as one of the most important partners in the Middle East. We want to strengthen our partnership by developing mutually beneficial relations in areas of strategic importance”, she said.

Our first diplomat praised the ambitious plans of Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, united in the Vision 2030 concept, aimed at modernizing Saudi Arabia. 

During the meeting, the Bulgarian side invited Saudi Arabia to visit the International Exhibition of Defense Products and Services - Hemus 2022 in Plovdiv, which will provide a platform for European and international companies to demonstrate their innovations to a wide audience from around the world and will enable for contacts with new partners.

The two ministers also discussed Russia's aggression against Ukraine, as well as the ongoing Hutt attacks in Saudi Arabia. They agreed that all conflicts should be resolved peacefully at the negotiating table.
