The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova received the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Bulgaria M. Daud Ali, with whom she discussed issues of bilateral relations, including in the field of economy, education and labor migration.
The Bulgarian side stressed that it attaches great importance to relations with Bangladesh and appreciates the existing dialogue, which is developing in an atmosphere of friendship and shared democratic values. In 2022, Bulgaria and Bangladesh mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. During the meeting, mutual interest was expressed in strengthening bilateral cooperation and strengthening trade and economic relations. It is important to make more efforts to expand economic ties and to increase the volume of trade between our countries, as there is a lot of untapped potential in this regard, said the Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Among the highlights of the conversation were issues related to visa policy, strengthening political dialogue, including at the level of foreign ministries, and co-operation between the two countries within international organizations.
