08 June 2021 News

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Svetlan Stoev received the Ambassador of Slovenia to Bulgaria Anzej Franges, with whom they discussed the development of the bilateral relations and good cooperation within the EU, NATO and the Three Seas Initiative.

Bulgaria and Slovenia have similar goals set by EU and NATO membership, as well as common positions in supporting the European integration of the Western Balkan countries, ensuring security and prosperity in the region, emphasised Svetlan Stoev.

He expressed confidence in the success of the forthcoming Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU and the expectations of Bulgaria for the continuation of the close cooperation with Slovenia on the priorities currently announced by it.

Minister Stoev praised Slovenia's contribution to the Investment Fund to the Three Seas Initiative and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation in the implementation of joint regional and cross-border projects in the field of transport, energy and communications, including during the Bulgarian hosting of the Initiative this year. The expectations of Bulgaria are that Slovenian companies would join the planned business forum, which would contribute to the development of relations.
