28 June 2021 News

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Svetlan Stoev received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark Søren Jacobsen in connection with his departure from the country, and the two reviewed the development of the bilateral relations and contacts.

"Danish business is well positioned in Bulgaria, but we need to make efforts for future opportunities for the development of bilateral partnerships in the field of green energy, where your country has extensive experience," said Minister Stoev.

Ambassador Jakobsen emphasised that 50 Danish companies operate in Bulgaria, all of which have Bulgarian managers. He also noted that currently there is a reorientation of Danish production from Asia to Europe, and in particular to Bulgaria.

This year, Bulgaria and Denmark are celebrating the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Our two countries are partners in the EU, NATO and the UN, and have excellent bilateral relations.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Stoev expressed hope that Bulgaria will remain in the heart of Ambassador Jacobsen. Our Foreign Minister used the occasion to send special congratulations for the performance of the Danish national team at the European Football Championship, for the high spirit of the players shown after the health problem of one of them. Minister Stoev noted that the Danish football players are currently writing history and conveyed his best wishes to the team for the next phase of the tournament.
