The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the United Nations based in New York, Lachezara Stoeva presented her credentials

On February 22, 2021, at an official ceremony at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the United Nations in New York, Ms. Lachezara Stoeva, presented her credentials to the UN Secretary General, Mr. Antonio Guterres.

During the conversation, Ambassador Stoeva conveyed to the UN Secretary General the congratulations of the President and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria and stressed the full support of our country for the efforts of the General Assembly to strengthen the Organization and multilateralism with the UN at its centre. She pointed out that "a better UN means a better world."

For his part, the UN Secretary General welcomed Ambassador Stoeva and expressed confidence that, given her excellent knowledge of the work of the UN, it will be one of the pillars of the Organization's activities. He pointed out that Bulgaria is a country strongly attached to multilateralism and always shows an extremely positive and constructive approach in the complex processes in the UN system in all areas. Mr. Guterres said that he relied on the strong voice of Bulgaria, which is always able to bring together different perspectives both at European and global level.
