MFA Organizes Free Film Festival for Expatriates

The Bulgarian expatriates were be able to see 22 Bulgarian films free of charge during the Bg Online Screen Festival which started on November 20, 2020. The event was organized by the State Cultural Institute under the Minister of Foreign Affairs and was held with the support of the Bulgarian diplomatic and consular missions around the world.
The films were available on the Neterra online platform from November 20 to December 6. The program included short films and full feature films, documentaries, and animated films.
Several movies directed by Niki Iliev were among the selected films: „The Foreigner,“ „Living Legends,“ and „Knockout,“ the first feature film of AGITPROP, Galin Stoev’s „Endless Garden,“ as well as a documentary production of this company, which tells the stories of five of the most prominent buildings erected during socialism, the so-called „Palaces of the People.“
Viewers enjoyed Anri Kulev’s “Tsahes,” the documentaries “The Veda Slovena Mystery” and “Spiritual,” as well as the animated film “Puk” based on a fairy tale by Valeri Petrov.
Bg Online Sacreen also offered „Fly With Rossinante“ of director Dzheki Stoev with soundtracks composed by Goran Bregovic, and a story of growing up told through the eyes of Dimitar „Shosho“ Kotzev in „The Monkey“.
Documentaries served as accents in the festival’s program. The titles shown included „Loving Carmen“ with Alexandrina Pendachanska and „Stormy Medea“ with Snezhina Petrova, one of Nayo Titsin’s films „Sofia’s Heart of Gold“ co-directed by Goran Blagoev, Tatyana Pandurska’s productions „I RTrust Prof. Ivan Shishmanov, the Genius of the Bulgarian People“, „Vladimir Vazov, the Invincible General“, „Konstantin Velichkov, the European“ and the BNT productions „Alexandria’s Wisdom“ and „The Violin Is My Voice“.
All films were available on the platform free of charge and could be watched on any kind of a device.
