Deputy Minister Petko Doykov receives the newly appointed Ambassadors of Jordan and Sweden

Mr. Petko Doykov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs received copies of the Letters of Credence of the newly appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan H.E. Mr. Sufyan Qudah and of the Kingdom of Sweden H.E. Ms. Katarina Rangnitt.
At the meeting with Ambassador Qudah based in Bucharest, Deputy Minister Doykov emphasized on the traditionally good relations existing between Bulgaria and Jordan. „Our country considers Jordan as an important stability factor in the Middle East“, said Mr. Doykov. The coronavirus pandemic and the relations between the Hashemite Kingdom and the EU were also discussed at the meeting. The two countries expressed their willingness to continue their political dialogue and to deepen their cooperation in the field of the economy, security, and healthcare.
In the course of the discussion with the newly appointed Ambassador of Sweden Ms. Katarina Rangnitt, Deputy Minister Doykov noted the excellent level of the economic cooperation between the two countries. „In 2019, our trade exchange was worth EUR 461 million. The Bulgarian-Swedish Chamber of Commerce was established in the same year. These factors create opportunities for further deepening of our cooperation“, said Mr. Doykov. He thanked Ambassador Rangnitt for the support of Sweden to Bulgaria’s application for OECD membership.
