Bulgaria Provides Humanitarian Assistance to Lebanon

Bulgaria sent assistance to Lebanon in view of the humanitarian crisis in Beirut after the powerful explosion at the port of Beirut on 4 August 2020. The donation was provided by the Bulgarian Red Cross with the cooperation of Ministry of Health, the Fire Safety and Protection of the Population Chief Directorate with the Ministry of Interior and other Bulgarian institutions at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Bulgarian assistance shipment contained protective clothing, family-size tents, chemical protection outfits, masks, gloves and disinfectants. The materials’ total value stands at BGN 31 546.34. They were sent to Lebanon via Vienna on a shared flight arranged by the European Commission together with donations from Croatia and Austria.
