Three European foreign ministers on a first-ever joint visit to Lebanon and Iraq

From June 21 to 24, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nickolay Mladenov, his Swedish counterpart Carl Bildt and Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski are on a first-ever joint visit to Lebanon and Iraq.
The three foreign ministers will hold talks on the situation in the region, with an emphasis on the situation in Syria, as well as opportunities for co-operation between Lebanon and Iraq, respectively, and the European Union.
They will convey a message from the European Union High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton, in support of the security, territorial integrity and national unity of Lebanon.
In Beirut and in Baghdad, they will hold meetings with Presidents Michel Suleiman and Jalal Talabani and with the leaders of parliaments and senior representatives of the governments.
In Lebanon, the ministers will hold talks with representatives of United Nations organisations working in the region.
In the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Ministers Mladenov, Bildt and Sikorski will meet Massoud Barzani, president of the Kurdistan Federal Region and President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
