Georg Georgiev: A natural bond of friendship exists between Bulgaria and Moldova
14 February 2018 News“Bulgaria and Moldova maintain close friendly ties and an active political dialogue on all levels. The Bulgarian community in the Republic of Moldova is the natural connection between our two countries and we hope that its social and economic situation would continue to improve”, stated Deputy Minister Georg Georgiev before Kiril Tatarluh, chairman of the Tarakliya region of Moldova.
Deputy Minister Georgiev expressed appreciation for the conditions, which the authorities in Moldova, including at local level, were creating for the preservation of the national, cultural and language identity of the Bulgarian community in Moldova. He emphasized that the care for our compatriots abroad is and will remain one of the main tasks both of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as of the Government of Bulgaria.
According to Deputy Minister Georgiev the newly established Bulgarian consulate in the city of Tarakliya would not only improve the consular services in the southern regions of Moldova, but would also contribute for the activation of the cultural links and stimulate the economic relations and investments in this part of the country.
Georg Georgiev and Kiril Tatarluh agreed that the projects under Development Cooperation, which Bulgaria in implementing in Moldova, have a significant input into the preservation of Bulgarian traditions, customs and culture among the Bulgarian community in that country. “I am truly happy that we are able to support you. This is an honour and a responsibility for us. We should find more occasions that we could share together” Georg Georgiev said.
