The Bulgarian Ambassador in Stockholm presents the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU to Sweden’s Foreign Minister Margot Wallström

Valentin Poriazov, Bulgaria’s Ambassador in Stockholm, presented the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU to Sweden’s Foreign Minister Margot Wallström at a meeting with the ambassadors of the European Union’s member and candidate-member states accredited to Sweden that took place of January 31st, 2018.
Minister Wallström wished Bulgaria every success in its first Presidency. She expressed her support for the efforts of this country to bring the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries back into the focus of attention of the EU institutions. Ms. Wallström confided that she was looking forward to the Summit Meeting in Sofia in May. The meeting in Stockholm also discussed the challenges facing the Union; the attendees noted that the unity of the member states, as reflected in the message of the motto of the Bulgarian Presidency, is essential for dealing with those challenges. In the context of global challenges, Sweden’s Foreign Minister Margot Wallström briefed Ambassador Poriazov on the priorities of her country as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and those of the Swedish Chairmanship of the Council of the Baltic States.
