29 January 2018 News

An exhibition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews opened at the Valencia History Museum to mark the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The exhibition, staged under the motto ‘The Power of Civil Society’, is part of the cultural program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU. The aim of the exhibition is to familiarize the Spanish public with this heroic episode of Bulgarian history, when the tolerance, solidarity and empathy of Bulgarian society resulted in the rescue of 48,000 human lives. This event also signals Bulgaria’s firm commitment to fight against any and all forms of anti-Semitism, xenophobia and hatred.

The exhibition was opened with speeches by the Bulgarian Consul General in Valencia, Tsvetelin Tsolov, the Director of the Valencia History Museum, Javier Martí Oltra, and the Deputy Mayor of Valencia for Culture, Glòria Tello Company.
