Ambassador Radi Naidenov has presented his credentials

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr Radi Naidenov, presented his credentials to the President of the Upper House of German Parliament – the Bundesrat, Horst Seehofer, who is temporarily acting as the Federal President, at a ceremony at Bellevue Castle in Berlin.

They expressed confidence in the development of Bulgarian-German relations and the need to develop a pragmatic and effective approach both on bilateral relations and the two countries’ partnership in the European Union and NATO.

The talks were attended by Prof. Dr. Harald Braun, Secretary of State in the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Klemens von Götz, foreign policy adviser to the Federal President and Ambassador Karl Vokalek, Chief of Protocol of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Radi Naidenov was born on August 24 1962 in Sofia. He graduated with an MA in International Relations from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia in 1989.

He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1992. He worked in the Embassy of Bulgaria in Bern, Swiss Confederation, and in Berlin, Federal Republic Germany.

On September 13 2005, he became Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria in Austria, Vienna (October 2010 - based in Sofia).

In February 2012, he was appointed Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was Deputy Minister of defence (2001-2002) and head of the cabinet of the Prime Minister (2002-2005).
He speaks German, English and Russian.
