Statement
10 November 2017 NewsThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically condemns the latest in a series of acts of vandalism committed against the Alyosha Monument in Plovdiv, which was smeared with Nazi symbols and anti-Semitic slogans.
Such acts are utterly unacceptable and run counter to the tolerance that is traditional for Bulgarian society, as well as to the commitments assumed by our country within the EU and the international organisations to fight racism, xenophobia and hate crimes.
We hope that the competent authorities will detect the perpetrators and will bring them to justice.
