Young people from the regions of Varna and Dobrich granted free access to Ministry of Foreign Affairs

03 November 2017 News

Youth from the regions of Varna and Dobrich were guests of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Today they were granted free access to the Ministry building and were given an opportunity to get familiarized with the institution’s main activity and talk to its representatives.

“My personal ambition is to make the visits to this building more frequent. I would like that people be aware of what is being done here. When the citizens get familiarized with us and with the essence of our work, they will get a real idea of the Bulgarian institutions. People should know that it is professionals that work here and withstand the country’s interests on a daily basis. Diplomacy has no colour. It is such as it is required to be in accordance with Bulgaria’s foreign political priorities,” Deputy Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev said before the young people.

Within their visit to the Foreign Ministry, they got acquainted with the cultural and historical heritage of the Ministry. Representatives of the State Cultural Institute with the Minister of Foreign Affairs presented the rich arts fund, part of which the young people were able to see – sculptures located in the Foreign Ministry Garden and pictures exhibited in the protocol premises of the building. The young guests gained first-hand knowledge of a number of subtleties of the diplomatic protocol and ceremonies.

Addressing the young people, Georg Georgiev stressed that some of them are likely to choose the path of politics and stressed that it is highly important how they will represent our country abroad. “Our state needs young and energetic people committed to its progress and good positioning at the world stage,” Deputy Minister Georgiev added.
