Position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the agreement on Iran’s nuclear program

Bulgaria welcomes the historic agreement reached in Vienna on 14 July 2015 on a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action for the Iran’s nuclear program between the foreign ministers of E3 + 3 (the United Kingdom, Germany, France, China, Russian Federation and the United States) and Iran.
We highly value the determination and unprecedented efforts of all participants in the negotiation process, including the team of the European External Action Service, which contributed to finding a diplomatic solution. We hope that it will be widely supported by the international community and the planned measures will be fully implemented.
We believe that the settlement of this long-term intricate problem is a significant step towards confidence - and stability-building in the region of the Middle East and Southwest Asia which is neighbouring on Bulgaria. We see the emergence of "favourable opportunities for cooperation and constructive dialogue with Iran on a number of issues, including such of regional and global importance.
