Visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Sofia
07 July 2014 Diplomatic CalendarOn 7 July Minister Kristian Vigenin will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov who will visit Sofia at the invitation of his Bulgarian counterpart. The visit is on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Russia.
The official talks will take place at 1.00 pm in the building of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry. After the plenary talks between the two delegations at 2.30pm there will be official signing of Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of health and medical science. The two foreign ministers will validate postal stamp collectors edition, dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Kristian Vigenin and Sergey Lavrov will give a joint media briefing.
Photograthers will be able to make protocol photos at the Ministry’s official entrance at 1.00 pm. Accredited media representatives are invited to attend the signing ceremony of the Agreement and the validation, as well as the Joint Ministerial briefing at 2.30 pm.
During his visit to Bulgaria Sergey Lavrov will be received by President Rosen Plevneliev, the Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski and the National Assembly President Mihail Mikov.
