Ministry of Foreign Affairs confers award on Ambassador of Belarus

“You and the leadership of your embassy have done much to enliven Bulgarian-Belarusian relations in recent years,” Deputy Minister Ivan Naydenov said at a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus, Vyacheslav Kachanov, on the occasion of his final departure from Bulgaria. Conferring the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ highest honour, the Golden Laurel Bough, Ivan Naydenov emphasised the ambassador’s personal contribution to the increased trade between the two countries, the increased number of tourists from Belarus, as well as the good co-operation in education, culture and transportation.
“We are connected spiritually, ethnically and as Orthodox Christians and we can turn this potential into even more successful relations in a number of specific areas, such as increased investments in the two countries, in trade and co-operation in the field of high technology,” Ambassador Kachanov said, expressing thanks for the great honour.
