Training Course on Economic Diplomacy under the Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office of the BSEC Organization

A training course on “Economic Diplomacy” was held in Sofia between 23–26 September 2025, organized by the Diplomatic Institute to the Minister of Foreign Affairs under the auspices of the Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office (C-i-O) of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).
The event brought together representatives of state institutions, international organizations, and academia to discuss key issues related to economic diplomacy and the strengthening of regional cooperation in the wider Black Sea region.
During the course, the Diplomatic Institute and the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS), one of the BSEC’s Related Bodies, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, laying the foundation for future joint initiatives and exchange of expertise and knowledge in the field of economic diplomacy and regional development.
Among the keynote-note speakers were Ambassador Lazar Comănescu, Secretary General of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat and Mr. Giorgos Mitrakos, Director General of ICBSS.
Mrs. Rositsa Stoeva, National Coordinator of the Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office of the BSEC Organization, presented the role of the Organization for the regional cooperation, as well as the priorities of the C-i-O focused on enhancing economic partnerships, promoting sustainable development, and advancing practical forms of cooperation between the BSEC Member States.
