Statement by the Spokesperson of the MFA on the attack in Jerusalem

Bulgaria strongly condemns Tuesday’s attack on a synagogue and a religious school in Jerusalem which took casualties. We empathize with the pain of the relatives of the victims and hope for an early recovery of the injured.
Such an act of aggression is detrimental to the interethnic and interreligious relations between the two countries. We urge both Israel and the Palestinians to make every effort to ease tensions in order to resume the peace process and return to the political mechanisms for solving the problems.
