The Bulgarian community in Cyprus is a bridge between the two nations

16 June 2014 News

Bulgarians working and residing in the Republic of Cyprus are a bridge for mutual understanding of the two nations. The Bulgarian community is very welcome in Cyprus and can serve as an example for our communities abroad. The eight Bulgarian weekend schools are an example of keeping the connection with the homeland alive. With these words  Minister Kristian Vigenin addressed our compatriots in Cyprus who gathered for the opening of the bas-relief of the patron of one of the schools – Nikola Vaptsarov.

The Foreign Minister gave certificates to the graduates of different classes. The children presented a short program that included poetry of Vaptsarov.

Minister Vigenin congratulated the representatives of the Bulgarian community for the solidarity and their activity, both in terms of supporting the work of the schools and in relation to the cultural activities they develop. In the meeting participated also representatives of the Association of Cypriot graduates in Bulgaria.
