The mandate of the Bulgarian Ambassador to Brazil Chavdar Nikolov will be terminated

The mandate of Chavdar Nikolov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Federative Republic of Brazil , to be terminated earlier. This is a disciplinary penalty, imposed by the Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin after examining the protocols of the meetings of the Disciplinary Board of the MFA and the evidences gathered on the disciplinary case.
The actions of Ambassador Chavdar Nikolov in connection to the procedure of expulsion of Gulubin Boevski constitute a violation of Art. 89 , para . 2, item 1 of the Civil Servants Act - breach of duties. With his actions, the employee has infringed Art. 28 , para . 1 of the Civil Servants Act and Art. 17, para . 1 of the Code of Conduct for Civil Servants as he has damaged the reputation of the civil service in general and of the diplomatic service in particular.
The direct consequences of the offense include, on the one hand , a lack of prior information in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the fact, the time and reason for the returning of Gulubin Boevski to Bulgaria, and on the other hand - the lack of relevant information to other government bodies and institutions, which are directly involved in the Boevski case by the virtue of their functions – the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Justice.
The behavior of the employee has reduced the public confidence in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , whose main function is to protect the rights and interests of the Bulgarian state and the Bulgarian citizens and the legal persons abroad.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs will initiate the adoption of a decision of the Council of Ministers for a proposal to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria to issue a decree to dismiss Chavdar Nikolov from the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria tothe Federative Republic of Brazil.
