The problem of the refugee flows is a serious humanitarian issue, requiring solutions at European level , including substantial financial resources from the EU.On this statement agreed during their meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Vigenin and his Greek counterpart Evangelos Venizelos.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Vigenin who is on a one-day working visit to Greece, met with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Evangelos Venizelos. During the talks, they discussed issues of bilateral relations and regional cooperation, the European perspective of the Western Balkans, as well as the situation in the Middle East. Kristian Vigenin commented with his hosts also issues on the European agenda, in light of the upcoming EU Council rotating presidency of Greece in the first half of the next year.
During the meeting, the two foreign ministers discussed the possibility of passenger buses to cross the border checkpoints "Makaza - Nymfaia" and they confirmed the commitment for its fastest opening for heavy traffic. In the context of the topic regarding some difficulties in the exchange of information between the insurance institutes of the two countries, a clear political will to find a solution between the departments in charge was declared.
During the conversation, the issue of speeding up the negotiations on signing a readmission agreement EU-Turkey was also discussed.
The Republic of Greece as a strategic partner holds an important place in the foreign policy priorities of Bulgaria. This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Vigenin during his meeting with the Prime Minister of Greece Antonis Samaras. The Bulgarian Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction with the rewarding cooperation between the two countries, both bilaterally and in the framework of various international organizations.
The program of the working visit of Minister Vigenin to Greece includes also meetings with President Karolos Papoulias and President of the Parliament Evangelos Meimarakis.
